Inner City Players Basketball was established in 1997 as an elite youth team of (10) young men from the inner city of Portland, Oregon, committed to one another as not only a teammates but FAMILY!

This vision derived years prior, through a growing basketball fellowship throughout the inner city of Portland, Oregon. "WE always wanted to ensure that whatever was significant in our state regarding basketball, had to come through Portland, stated 1996 NBA Rookie of the Year, Damon Stoudamire, a Portland native and a fore father of the ICP movement, "There has always been talent in Oregon, we just didnt have the means to get on that national stage".

Spawning from the early 80's battles between Goldenball rivals Albina Sports Program (ASP) and Columbia Boys & Girls Club, the city of Portland has always been a hotbed of pure basketball talent. Now through the success of local products such as Richard Washington, AC Green, Terrell Brandon, Damon Stoudamire and many others, resources have become available to take these local kids to the next level of competition.

Over the past 15 years ICP has been able to produce several elite basketball platforms not only on the west coast but throughout the country. Whether it be our Elite Youth or High School teams, Our Invitation Only Camps and Showcases, Oregon / Washington AllStar games or NCAA summer sanctioned events, ICP has established itself in Portland, as the tastemaker of Northwest Basketball.
